Italian Transportation minister, Paola De Micheli, just signed the implementing decree article 172 of the New Highway Code aiming to prevent children’s abandon in vehicles. The legislative procedure has come to an end, after the approval of the Parliament, the favorable opinion acquired by the European Commission and the approval of State Council in the last few days. The obligation to install anti-abandon devices on child seats for children under the age of four is therefore enforced. The obligation will be operative as soon as the decree law is published in the Official Journal, in the next few days. Given the importance of these devices, there are also studies to evaluate a way to implement some tax benefits to promote the purchase and to increase the resources.
